AVATAR VHS release: review

I recently purchased the VHS version of James Cameron's AVATAR from Amazon.com.
Avatar on VHS offers a number of benefits for the cinema aficionado looking to delve deeper into this blockbuster.
The loss of visual quality allows the viewer to really concentrate on the often overlooked storyline and over appreciated acting.  Sam Worthington's 3D enhanced acting from the cinema print is reverted to it's original 1D allowing it to blend seamlessly into the paint by numbers storyline.
While some may point out the significant resolution loss from blu-ray they fail to mention that the graininess offered by VHS actually makes the CGI look less fake. It's almost like we are watching a fly-on-the-wall documentary filmed on some distant planet instead of an overblown Hollywood cheese fest.

With this in mind I give this release: 4/5.
(I had to remove 1 star as i was disappointed that Sam Worthington hadn't been digitally removed completely)
